July 31st – We have just received notification from Consolidated Communications (owners of the utility poles) that they are ready for us to begin pole survey work! We will be surveying over 2,000 utility poles to determine which poles are ready for attachment and which poles need some pre-attachment work. Next up, we string the fiber!
July 25th – Downeast Broadband and Consolidated Communications reached a tentative agreement to attach fiber to over 2,000 area utility poles. We are hopeful that the Agreement will be fully executed by Monday, July 30th and that the pole survey work may begin in earnest. Once the survey work has started, we will begin purchasing the equipment to build the 87 mile fiber optic network in Baileyville and Calais, Maine!
