Princeton and Cooper Updates
Princeton and Cooper have joined the Downeast Broadband Utility. This means Fiber Internet will soon be available in your area.
Project Status -

Princeton
The Princeton project is slow going as we are still waiting for the approval of 2 pole licenses. We have been told that there has been progress made on the poles and that approval for these licenses should be expected soon. The construction team is ready to resume work as soon as these approvals come through.
Cooper
The Cooper project continues at full speed ahead. Strand is 100% complete, backbone is 100% complete, lateral is 100% complete, FAT is 100% complete, and splicing is 100% complete. Testing will begin very soon and then service will begin to be offered in Cooper! We highly suggest residents of Cooper begin reaching out to one of our ISP’s to schedule an install.

Princeton
The Princeton project progress is slow due to us still waiting on 2 pole licenses - but we have some updated progress percentages to share. Strand is currently at 32% complete and lateral is current at 16% complete. Once these two licenses are approved you will see the completed construction percentages climb quickly.
Cooper
The Cooper project progress is in high gear! Strand is currently at 90% completed, Backbone 100% completed, Lateral 59% completed, FAT 17% completed, Splicing 11%. We are very optimistic that this project will be completed VERY SOON.

Messenger cable also known as Support Strand has been attached in Princeton and Cooper. All pole licenses have been processed and accepted for Cooper - there is 2 pending licenses for Princeton. Multiple crews are working on both builds, this will greatly increase the speed of the construction. Right now they are attaching fiber to the support strand, once this is completed the next step is testing. Once testing is completed - Fiber Internet will then be offered to the residents of Princeton and Cooper.
